How Credit Repair Works at Permissible: Every Step, Every Price, No Surprises

Here is the entire process, start to finish, including the parts other companies leave vague: what we send, how long bureaus take, what it costs each month, and what we cannot control. If a step below surprises your current credit repair company, ask them why.

The Credit Repair Process

Step 1: Free Credit Analysis (about 30 minutes)

We pull your Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion reports with you and go line by line. You leave with a written summary of every negative item and which ones may be inaccurate, unverified, unfair, or outdated. No card required, and the summary is yours whether or not you hire us. Your reports may contain errors; a 2021 Consumer Reports study found 34 percent of participants found at least one error on their reports. They also may not, and we will tell you honestly if there is little for us to challenge.

Step 2: Written Plan and Contract (same week)

Before any work starts, you receive a written contract stating the services, the total monthly price ($79, $99, or $129 depending on tier), and the estimated length of service. Federal law (the Credit Repair Organizations Act) requires this, along with your right to cancel within three business days of signing. You will also receive the required “Consumer Credit File Rights Under State and Federal Law” disclosure before signing.

Step 3: Dispute Cycles (30 to 45 days each)

We prepare and send disputes to the credit bureaus and, on Standard and Full Advocacy plans, directly to furnishers and collectors. Bureaus generally have 30 days under the FCRA to investigate (45 in some cases), which is why each cycle takes about that long and why any “30-day fix” pitch you see elsewhere is a red flag.

Step 4: Results, Review, Repeat (most clients: several months)

After each investigation, an item either comes off the report, gets corrected, or comes back verified. Verified items can be re-challenged when new facts or documentation support it. Each month you get a plain-language report and you pay after that month’s work is done. You can stop anytime.

Step 5: Build Forward

Disputes address what may be wrong on your reports. The rest of your credit picture comes from habits: on-time payments, low utilization, and account age. We give every client an educational plan for that half, because challenged items alone do not build a strong file.

Where People Go Next (A Narrative, Not a Promise)

Clients come to us at different points on the same road. Some are renters working toward a mortgage application. Some are business owners whose personal reports are blocking a personal guarantee. Some are starting over after a divorce. A few have walked the whole road: personal reports first, then, separately and months later, our business funding readiness program. Each of those is a separate decision with its own price and its own enrollment, and no step guarantees the next. What we promise is the same at every stage: the exact steps and the exact price.

Honest Timeline Expectations

  • Each dispute cycle: typically 30 to 45 days
  • Most clients: several months of service
  • Business credit readiness: commonly 6 to 12 months of sequenced work
  • Anyone quoting “results in 30 days” or a guaranteed point gain: walk away

Every credit situation is different. Results vary and no outcome can be guaranteed.
